Reducto

Hosted document parsing and extraction API, priced per page, for AI pipelines.

Operated by Reducto, Inc.

Where your files are processed

Reported to upload your files

The vendor states that files are uploaded to their servers. We have not independently tested this. This covers the web service. We have not checked self-hosted instance, and we do not extend the finding to it.

A hosted platform by default: documents are posted to Reducto's APIs. The vendor lists "Deploy in your environment" among its enterprise features, so a self-hosted path exists for larger customers, but the documented and default route is their service.

What it does

Reducto is a hosted platform for getting data out of documents: parsing them into structured output with bounding-box citations, splitting multi-document files into their constituent parts, extracting fields, and filling in forms. Its parsing model combines OCR with vision-language models in a multi-pass arrangement, and it is sold as a set of APIs aimed at AI teams handling difficult layouts — dense tables, scanned forms, financial statements. The vendor states SOC 2 and HIPAA compliance and offers deployment inside the customer's own environment.

Best for: Engineering teams building document-heavy pipelines in finance, healthcare or legal who need parsing, splitting and extraction through one API rather than assembling several models, and who care about bounding-box citations for verifying what was extracted and from where.

Worth knowing: It is per-page pricing, and that is a different shape of cost from a subscription: 1 cent per page sounds small until a pipeline runs over a million pages, and the pricing page publishes the plan structure rather than one homepage figure: Standard, Growth and Enterprise, with endpoint rates, parsing at $10 per 1,000 pages, an introductory $150 usage allowance, EU and AU endpoints with retention and BAA agreements on Growth, and VPC or on-premises deployment on Enterprise. Those are plan-specific vendor offerings rather than guarantees for every account. The current pricing pagersing model is explicitly in preview, which means the thing being evaluated today may change. Its compliance claims — SOC 2 and HIPAA — are the vendor's own statements, and the linked security page was not read, so they are recorded as claims rather than as facts; for a service that receives regulated documents that distinction matters. And the same one as every hosted parser here: documents are uploaded unless you deploy it yourself, and no residency or retention statement was read on the pages visited.

Details, and where each comes from

Vendor statements, our own reading of their pages, and the things nobody has established yet, each answered separately. Where we have not confirmed something it says so rather than guessing, and a row nobody has established is greyed out.

What the redaction verdict rests on

From the vendor's own documentation, read 22 September 2026. Not tested by us.

“Reducto parse r-1 reads documents like a human would—capturing complex layouts, tables, and formatting with high accuracy and bounding-box citations.”

What that does not establish: Recorded as `none` on absence: Reducto reads, parses, splits and extracts from documents, and nothing on the page describes removing content from a file. The vendored "Edit" product fills fields in rather than deleting them. What it does not establish: that the extracted output is safe. This is the sharpest version of a point that applies to every extraction tool in this index — a service whose purpose is to capture everything faithfully produces exactly the artefact that must never be published from a document that was supposed to have been redacted.

What the vendor says

Claims are labelled rather than repeated as fact. Where we have checked something ourselves, it says so and shows when. Checked means we read the vendor's own page and it says what we recorded — not that we tested the behaviour, unless the note says we did.

  • “r-1 is our most capable parsing model yet, replacing complex, multi-tool pipelines with a single model for just 1¢ per page, all-in.”

How we checked: Read as rendered text in headless Chrome on 2026-10-01 and saved to the evidence archive, so the read can be repeated against the same file. Comparison ignores case, punctuation and hyphenation, which is why "open-source" on the record matches "open source" on the page.
