Creator review

Dialegein invites the people who make the tools in this index to check the factual fields in their records. The purpose is accuracy. It is not an editorial approval, a ranking service, or an endorsement.

Effective from 19 October 2026 · Last updated 19 October 2026

What this is

The programme will invite creators directly to check facts such as price, platforms, processing location, interfaces, documented capabilities, limits, source links and discontinued status.

When invited, a creator may confirm a fact, correct a fact with public evidence, or say that they do not want to take part. They cannot approve the editorial assessment, buy a better position, or ask us to remove accurate criticism.

No creator checks are published yet. The programme is being prepared; no creator has been contacted and no check is published yet. This page describes the process and the label that will be used when a check has actually been completed and verified.

What a creator may check

  • current list prices, currency, billing period, free tier and trial terms;
  • supported platforms, operating systems and deployment models;
  • where files are processed: locally, in a browser, in a vendor cloud, self-hosted, or hybrid;
  • interfaces: graphical, command line, library, HTTP API, or browser;
  • documented capabilities and limits, including redaction behaviour, OCR, batch processing, file-size limits, supported formats and languages;
  • current product version and release date, where published;
  • official source links that are dead, wrong or out of date;
  • discontinued, renamed or superseded status.

The creator may point to a factual error. They do not get to rewrite the record around it.

What remains Dialegein’s editorial decision

  • whether a product is included at all;
  • ranking, ordering and recommendations;
  • quality scores and verdicts;
  • “best for” and “watch out for” judgements;
  • how uncertainty and evidence are described;
  • comparisons, alternatives and what counts as a material correction;
  • removal of criticism;
  • badge wording and public presentation.

In short: creators can correct facts; Dialegein decides what the facts mean.

Evidence we accept

We accept public, checkable evidence: official product documentation, public pricing pages, dated release notes, public announcements and official repository documentation. Each correction needs the field, the current wording, the proposed wording, the public source URL and the date it was read.

We do not accept private discounts, confidential roadmaps, marketing copy intended to replace the record’s voice, or claims that cannot be checked. If the only evidence is confidential, we will not publish the change; the field may remain unverified.

How corrections are handled

We check the evidence ourselves. A factual correction may change the relevant field and, where material, is recorded in the public corrections register.

A disagreement with a judgement is not a factual correction. It does not remove the judgement, change a score, or move a product in the ranking. The final editorial decision remains with Dialegein.

What the label means

When a check is completed, a record may carry a neutral label such as Creator checked factual fields, with the date and the fields covered.

The label means exactly that: a creator checked or corrected those facts. It is not an endorsement, approval, quality rating, ranking signal, or a statement that the product is recommended.

We do not publish a “does not respond” label, and we do not treat no response as a negative signal. Absence of the label means only that no completed creator check is recorded. It says nothing about the product’s quality or the creator’s willingness to engage.

Who the programme will invite

The programme will invite creators directly, starting with a small number of records where factual accuracy matters most. It will not use a public submission form. If you make a tool in the index and want to check its factual fields, contact calum@dialegein.com.

The programme is separate from sponsorship, referral links, paid placement and data licensing. See the independence and money policy for those rules.
