Where your files are processed
No server involved
A program you install and run yourself. It reads HTML and CSS from local storage or a URL you choose and writes the PDF locally; YesLogic operates no processing service in the path. That is a property of the library itself: what an application built with it does with your file depends on that application, not on this.
Installed Prince runs as a local CLI or through wrapper libraries on the customer's machine or server. It reads HTML/CSS and local or configured URL resources, and writes PDF locally; YesLogic operates no processing service in that path.
A licence file may be required; an account is not. The AWS Lambda package is a deployment target, not a Prince-hosted service.
FreeBSD is listed as a download target but is not represented in the schema's platform enum. Prince Cloud, DocRaptor and EuroPDF are separate services and are not this installed edition.
What it does
Prince is YesLogic's installed HTML/XML/CSS typesetting engine that produces print-quality PDF. The current download line is Prince 17, with package build 17-1; the site does not expose an exact patch date, and prerelease builds are a separate track.
It accepts HTML, Markdown, XML, SVG, CSS/JavaScript and JPEG/PNG/WebP/AVIF/GIF/TIFF images, and outputs PDF with bookmarks, links, metadata, encryption/document security, embedded/subset fonts and attachments. It supports paged-media layout (headers/footers, page numbers, duplex, tables/lists/columns/floats, footnotes, cross-references) and Unicode/CJK/Arabic/Hebrew/Hindi typography.
It runs as a local CLI and through Python/Node.js, Java/.NET, PHP/Ruby on Rails and Docker wrappers on Windows, macOS, Linux and other listed targets, including an AWS Lambda package. Prince for Books is a separate developing branch, not a separate edition of the installed product.
The Non-commercial licence is free but restricted and notice/link-bearing; Desktop, Server, Academic Server, Commercial Site and OEM licensing are separate. Prince Cloud, DocRaptor and EuroPDF are separate services, not this installed product.

The free Non-commercial licence is narrow: it excludes fees, monetary transaction systems such as invoices and receipts, and subscription/advertising income; generated PDFs carry notices that must not be removed, and routine generation requires a prominent princexml.com link where documents are fetched and in email bodies. Free/testing downloads are not a universal production free tier.
Pricing is in USD and tier-specific: Desktop USD 495 is for one user on one computer for self-publishing/internal use, not server or commercial site generation; Per Server is USD 3,800 one-time for government/noncommercial internal or free documents; Academic Server is USD 1,900; Commercial Site starts around USD 2,000/year for startups by document type/volume; OEM is quote-based. What that does not establish
Recorded as `none` on absence, and this one is structural rather than a judgement about a feature list: Prince is a generator. It builds a PDF from HTML and CSS and has no notion of an existing document to edit, so there is nothing for a redaction feature to operate on.
Its output hardening is encryption and document security, which is a different thing from removing content. What it does not establish: that a PDF produced by Prince is free of whatever the source HTML contained - a template that prints a field will print it, and a generator writes what it is told to write.
