PandaDoc is a hosted PandaDoc, Inc. document-automation and e-signature SaaS for building, sending and signing proposals, quotes and contracts. Users create documents from templates, PDFs or DOCX imports, edit content with fields, placeholders, quote-builder items and roles, collaborate and route documents, then send them for e-signature with recipient verification, signing order, audit trails and signed-PDF retrieval.
The service runs in the vendor's US or EU data centers, with the EU instance in Frankfurt, Germany, and stores documents and signatures in the hosted account. It is available through the web app, iOS and Android apps, a REST API with a free sandbox and production keys, embedded signing through an iframe or SDK, and webhooks.
The current plan comparison lists Free eSign USD 0, Starter USD 19 per user per month billed annually (USD 35 monthly), Business USD 49 annual (USD 65 monthly) and Enterprise by quote. The Free plan guide currently says new Free accounts can send 5 documents per month with 2 recipients per document; older annual Free accounts retain 60 documents per year.
Free API access is available only for accounts created after 5 June 2026, with limits, while production API access requires a plan with API entitlement. PandaDoc is a hosted SaaS product, not a local or self-hosted library: documents, signatures, account data and audit trails are stored and processed in the vendor's servers, with US or EU (Frankfurt) data-center selection and the US as the primary processing location. It is operated by PandaDoc, Inc., San Francisco, and the MSA/DPA identify PandaDoc as the provider/processor; an order form controls the applicable commercial terms.
The Privacy Notice is dated 31 July 2026 and the data-residency page 1 September 2023; the earlier summary date of 12 August 2026 is not used. The current plan comparison lists Free eSign USD 0, Starter USD 19 annual (USD 35 monthly), Business USD 49 annual (USD 65 monthly) and Enterprise by quote.

Current guide wording distinguishes new monthly Free accounts from older annual Free accounts: the new Free plan sends 5 documents per month, while older annual Free accounts keep the 60 documents per year limit. It also keeps the 2-recipients-per-document cap, 5 templates, unlimited document storage and unlimited users.
The previous 60-per-year claim was accurate for the older annual plan but not for new Free accounts; the current wording records both.

The sentence is verbatim on the page, under a heading reading "Healthcare: HIPAA Compliance", but the same section attaches a condition the claim omits and which a reader acting on the claim would need - so partial rather than confirmed. The page states: "Execute a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with PandaDoc before using the platform for any ePHI workflows.
Contact your account team to request a BAA." Without that agreement in place, an organisation putting ePHI into the product is not covered by the compliance posture the claim describes, and the claim as recorded would not tell them. Two further facts from the page.
PandaDoc lists HIPAA among the frameworks its eSignatures are compliant with, alongside ESIGN, UETA, eIDAS, FERPA and FDA 21 CFR Part 11. And it states that AES-compliant signatures are supported when recipient identity verification is enabled, backed by FIPS-validated AWS CloudHSM cryptographic services.
"Fully HIPAA-compliant" is a self-assessment of the vendor's own; the article references no audit report or certificate that could be checked, and we have not checked one.
