Where your files are processed
Reported to upload your files
The vendor states that files are uploaded to their servers. We have not independently tested this. This covers the web service. We have not checked self-hosted instance, and we do not extend the finding to it.
The vendor describes its delivery as "cloud-first with on-premises options", so the default is the vendor's environment and an on-premises deployment is available where security requirements demand it. Because this handles transactional mailings containing personal data, which deployment a customer is on is a material question rather than an implementation detail.
This record covers the AccessibilityNow family rather than one module: the platform pages describe SaaS and cloud delivery and the record's platforms field says web and self_hosted, while the Remediate module is separately described as an ad hoc tagging tool that runs in a Windows desktop environment, so a desktop interface on one module is not a contradiction of the family's platforms.
What it does
AccessibilityNow is an enterprise platform for turning high volumes of documents into accessible ones: tagged PDF meeting PDF/UA, HTML5, Braille and large print, produced from the transactional documents an organisation already generates - statements, bills, policies, regulatory mailings. It is sold alongside the vendor's output-management and delivery products, the pitch being that accessibility is added to an existing print and mail pipeline rather than replacing it.
Braille production and accessible PDF are both named capabilities, which is unusual outside the specialist remediation vendors.
Best for
Large organisations with a statutory duty to communicate accessibly - banks, insurers, utilities, government agencies - that already run document composition at scale and need the accessible version to come out of the same process as the printed one. It is aimed at compliance programmes rather than at individual documents.
Worth knowing
The product family covers several things and the homepage lists them separately: hosted conversion, manual remediation, publishing, transactional, validation and workflow products, so a field here describes one component rather than the whole family, and one component's limits are not another's. The page leads with statistics about accessibility lawsuits and their average cost and claims 100% compliance and zero lawsuits, which is marketing we are recording rather than repeating: the useful questions are which component is being bought, how much of the work is human review, and what the contract actually guarantees.
It would be wrong to say no remediation platform can promise compliance because some checks need a person, since a platform can include human services. Deployment is described as cloud-first with on-premises options, which does not establish which one a buyer gets by default, and there is no published price or self-service trial, so it is not evaluable from the website the way the free tools are.
Details, and where each comes from
Vendor statements, our own reading of their pages, and the things nobody has established yet, each answered separately. Where we have not confirmed something it says so rather than guessing, and a row nobody has established is greyed out.

What the redaction verdict rests on
From the vendor's own documentation, read 22 September 2026. Not tested by us.
“Transform ANY document into EVERY accessible format automatically: PDF/UA, WCAG, HHS compliance”
What that does not establish
Recorded as `none` on absence: the platform converts documents into accessible formats and produces Braille and accessible PDF, and nothing on the page describes removing content from a document. What it does not establish: that the accessible output is safe.
An accessibility transformation is not a redaction - it rebuilds a document so a screen reader can follow it, and the sensitive content that was in the original is still in the original.
What the vendor says
Claims are labelled rather than repeated as fact. Where we have checked something ourselves, it says so and shows when. Checked means we read the vendor's own page and it says what we recorded - not that we tested the behaviour, unless the note says we did.

How we checked
Read as rendered text in headless Chrome on 2026-10-01 and saved to the evidence archive, so the read can be repeated against the same file. Comparison ignores case, punctuation and hyphenation, which is why "open-source" on the record matches "open source" on the page.
